Vista residents are invited to give the city feedback on Wave Waterpark improvements as part of its intent to maintain the attraction.
A workshop has been scheduled for June 5 where residents can provide input on the city’s plan to implement phased improvements for the the park.
The City Council voted to keep the water park in public hands on Feb. 11. The council also approved the purchase of new chlorinators for the attraction, which opens May 24 at noon.
The workshop is set for 5:30 p.m. June 5 in the City Council Chambers at the Vista Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive, according to a city news release. During the event, residents will receive information and a cost analysis for about potential Wave Waterpark improvements. Participants can attend in person or online via the Zoom platform, or watch live on the city’s YouTube channel.
An agenda packet will be available on the city’s website at the View Council Agenda link 72 hours before the meeting.
The Wave Waterpark opened June 30, 1994, and was the first municipal water park of its kind in the region. In addition to being an attraction for water rides, it provides swimming lessons, Splash Camps for children, junior lifeguard courses and Flow Rider simulated wave classes.
