Oceanside police made an arrest March 24 in connection with a beating two days before that left a man in critical condition, authorities announced.
Officers responded to a 911 call just after 2:15 a.m. March 22 reporting an assault with a baseball bat, according to an Oceanside Police Department report. Upon arriving at the scene, they found a 20-year-old man with blunt force trauma. He was transported to a local trauma center where he remains in critical condition. The victim’s name and incident’s location were not included in the report.
The Police Department’s Crimes of Violence Unit located a suspect in Escondido, where an arrest was made on March 24, according to the report. Oceanside authorities identified the suspect as Hunter Meyer, 23, of Escondido. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
