Oceanside CA— Concert-goers who want to twist and shout can come together on the COASTER this weekend as the North County Transit District (NCTD) takes you to downtown San Diego. Paul McCartney is set to perform at Petco Park on Saturday, June 22, to a sold-out stadium. Following the concert, NCTD is offering a specially scheduled northbound COASTER train to take you on the long and winding road up to Oceanside.
Prior to the concert, passengers can avoid the traffic and hassles of parking in the Gaslamp by taking a normally scheduled southbound COASTER train and transfer to an MTS Trolley at Santa Fe Depot to arrive at Petco Park. After the concert, passengers can get back home by taking the special 12:30 a.m. COASTER train north from Santa Fe Depot with eight stops from downtown San Diego to Oceanside.
RegionPlus Day Passes cover both the COASTER and MTS Trolley round-trip fare and can be purchased on the day of the event for $12 from any NCTD station vending machine. Or plan ahead and buy tickets before the event on your smartphone with the Compass Cloud mobile ticketing app.
The southbound COASTER schedule can be found on NCTD’s website, GoNCTD.com. For trip planning assistance or if you need a little help from your friends at NCTD, contact Customer Service at 760-966-6500
