Solvang CA— The Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort’s bi-annual women’s-only event, Wine, Women, & Wranglers, returns May 7-10, 2019 with an itinerary full of western activities with luxury accommodations intended for women to spend time with their ladies, master new and unique skills, and enjoy gourmet dining paired with tastings of local Santa Barbara County wines.
Alisal’s first-ever female head wrangler Jill Rivoli has created the ultimate crash course in horseback riding where guests try their hand at barrel racing and roping, learn tips on grooming and saddling a horse, and on the final day, help the lady wranglers drive cattle back to the Ranch. After assessing each rider’s equine experience, guests are paired with a horse that fits their skill level and a wrangler who knows all the ins and outs of the Ranch. Adding to guests’ equine education, Wrangler Jill shares her strong background in horse therapy and provides insights into the healing capabilities and benefits of horses in a fun and interactive activities.
Alisal’s equine itinerary is complemented by female-focused wine activities, leveraging the Ranch’s prime location in Santa Barbara Wine Country and relationships with the region’s premier female winemakers. Wine, Women, & Wrangling guests delight in intimate wine tastings and paired meals led by local women winemakers, showcasing the best of Central Coast wines and cuisine. Alisal’s Executive Chef Anthony Endy pairs these pours with a waterfront lunch at Alisal Lake, the Ranch’s stunning 100-acre spring fed lake in the heart of Alisal’s rolling green hills, and private dinners complete with a custom menu for package guests. Chef Endy infuses Central Coast cooking techniques into the menu, ensuring that each dish is a reflection of the region the women are pairing with their wines.
Lastly, guests are invited to relax and recuperate from days spent out on the trails with private guided yoga lessons on the Creekside Lawn, underneath its towering sycamore trees, with stretches and techniques targeting specific muscles used during horseback riding.
Wine, Women, & Wrangling guests have the opportunity to enjoy Alisal’s many ranch experiences such as fly fishing, archery, hiking, and more. In the evenings, guests can retreat to one of the 73 telephone-and-television-free guest cottages and suites that are outfitted with Western accessories to be used during their stay and individual wood-burning fireplaces contributing to the full dude ranch experience.
