Carlsbad CA— “North County” San Diego businessman, educator, and 20-year resident of Carlsbad, Thomas Krouse announced, on Thursday, his campaign to represent California’s 76th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, and Vista in addition to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. “I am committed to serving as watchdog in Sacramento, holding our state representatives accountable for every dollar they consider spending of taxpayers’ hard-earned income,” said Krouse. “California’s surplus revenues should be returned to the taxpayers now or placed in the ‘rainy day fund’ – not squandered by overspending politicians and bureaucrats.”
Krouse’s support continues to grow after his 2016 grassroots campaign struck a chord with voters district-wide when he earned more than 65,000 votes (41 percent) in the November general election. “I am committed to continuing my efforts in 2018 to ensure that everyone in the district is represented in the Assembly,” said Krouse. “The needs and goals of the people, not special interest groups, are supposed to be the top priorities of state government.”
Pam Slater-Price, Former San Diego County Supervisor, is endorsing Krouse. “Thomas has been fighting to protect local control over General Plans which has been threatened by dysfunctional ‘one size fits all’ government initiatives and out-of-town investors. He is also committed to opposing future tax increases as long as government continues to spend taxpayers’ money so ineffectively, inefficiently, and unwisely,” said Slater-Price.
Krouse is also endorsed by former Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood, who served for more than 15 years following three decades of service in the Oceanside Police Department. Wood said, “I am endorsing Thomas Krouse for the 76th AD because our community can trust him in the State Assembly to make sound policy decisions on important issues such as the economy, transportation and state support for veterans’ and senior services.”
Krouse has more than 25 years of experience in finance, technology, healthcare, and education. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1997, and is a graduate of Stanford University. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California (USC). In addition to professional roles as a Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at a number of companies, Krouse has served as a volunteer board member of the North County Humane Society/SPCA, the Mayfield Community Clinic, and Californians for Electoral Reform. www.KrouseForAssembly.com
