IRONMAN Village Opens Thursday in the Pier area

Oceanside CA— The 2021 Athletic Brewing IRONMAN^® 70.3^® Oceanside triathlon is set to take off on Saturday, Oct. 30 in Oceanside, California. Race weekend kicks off on Thursday, October 28 with athlete check-in at the IRONMAN Village expo at Oceanside Pier. On Saturday, Oct. 30 over 2,500 athletes from 47 states and 36 countries will embark on their 70.3-mile journey throughout northern San Diego County and Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
Top triathletes from around the world, including Ben Kanute (USA), Ben Hoffman (USA), Sam Appleton (AUS), Justin Metzler (USA), Emma Pallant-Browne (GBR), Heather Jackson (USA), Mirinda Carfrae (AUS), and Jeanni Metzler (ZAF) among others are scheduled to compete for a professional prize purse of $30,000.

  • 5:00 p.m. – IRONKIDS – Oceanside Strand, south side of Pier
• Saturday, Oct. 30 – Race Day
  • 4:45 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. - Transition area open – Oceanside Harbor
  • 6:40 a.m. – PRO Start – Oceanside Harbor
  • 6:50 a.m. – Age Group Rolling Start – Oceanside Harbor
  • 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – IRONMAN Village Opens – Oceanside Pier Area
  • Approx. 10:30 a.m. – First finisher expected at the finish line
  • Approx. 3:45 p.m. – Race Ends (*8.5 hours after the last athlete enters the water)
  • 4:00 p.m. – Awards Ceremony & 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship Slot Allocation/Rolldown Ceremony – Celebration Stage (Junior Seau Pier Amphitheater)
