Update: 07/05/2021 4:00pm- In the early morning hours of July 5, 2021, a resident living on Via Gianelli, Bonsall called to report a person down in the 6900 block of W. Lilac Road. North County Fire responded and unfortunately found the male deceased. The male was later identified as Gary Sokol. Notifications were made to Mr. Sokol’s family. SDSO thanks the public for their help looking out for Mr. Sokol, as well as their Search and Rescue and Senior Volunteers for their efforts.
Bonsall CA— On Friday, July 2, 2021 at about 6:30 PM, 77-year-old Gary Sokol was reported missing by his pastor. Sokol is presumed to have walked away from his home near Wrightwood Road and Lilac Road in Bonsall. Sokol’s hat and jacket were found in his driveway; his medications and cell phone were left behind at home.
Sokol was last seen by a neighbor on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at about 9:00 PM. Sokol has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia.

White male, 77 years of age, 5′ 10″ tall, 170 lbs., bald with gray hair on the sides, gray mustache, green eyes
