Oceanside CA— On May 7, 2021, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Officers from the Oceanside Police Department responded to a radio call of a possible body in a canoe. The canoe was located in the riverbed inlet area in the 1000 block of N. Pacific Street in between the beach and Interstate 5.
Officers arrived on scene and discovered a White male adult in his 50’s deceased inside the canoe. Members from the Oceanside Police Department Investigations Division and the Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene. The cause of death is undetermined at this time pending the Medical Examiner’s autopsy.
The identity of the Victim is not being released at this time pending notification of the next of kin. This is still an active investigation and no further details are being released at this time.
