Oceanside CA— Last night, Friday February 5, 2021 at approximately 8:22 pm, the Oceanside Police Department responded to a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian at 4147 Oceanside Blvd. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male lying in the westbound lanes. Life saving measures were immediately performed by the officers on scene followed by Oceanside Paramedics. The unidentified 35-year-old male was pronounced deceased on scene.

Based on physical evidence at the scene, and the statement of the driver involved, it appears that the male was crossing Oceanside Blvd. between intersections and was struck by the vehicle in the number 2 lane of westbound Oceanside Blvd. The 60-year-old female driver was traveling westbound on Oceanside Blvd. and didn’t see the pedestrian walking in the road. Following the collision, the driver remained on scene and was cooperative with police. Neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in this collision. The decedent name is being withheld pending notification to his family.
