San Juan Capistrano CA— Today, U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) released a COVID-19 federal resource guide for residents of California’s 49th Congressional District in order to provide basic information about important COVID-19 response programs and to answer frequently asked questions. The guide includes information about direct payments and expanded unemployment insurance, resources from the Small Business Administration (SBA), the Payment Protection Program (PPP), and much more.
To keep his constituents informed, Rep. Levin has also held virtual town halls on a weekly basis to share the latest public health information, provide updates on the economic response to COVID-19, and answer constituents’ questions. His next virtual town hall is this Wednesday, April 15, at 2:00pm PT. He will be joined by Roberto Garcia from the U.S. Census Bureau, and Dr. Karl Steinberg from Scripps Health. It will stream on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
The COVID-19 federal resource guide is available on Rep. Levin’s website at mikelevin.house.gov/covid-19.
See below for Rep. Levin’s introductory note to his constituents as part of the resource guide:
As we confront the COVID-19 pandemic together, I know many families and small business owners have a lot of questions about their future and how to apply for economic relief.
In Congress, I am prioritizing the needs of taxpayers and working families who need health care and economic support. I have worked with my colleagues to pass the bipartisan Families First Coronavirus Response Act and Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which provides trillions of dollars in relief. I am now working to ensure that the Administration quickly and responsibly implements the important programs included in these bills, such as direct payments to families, funding for small businesses, expanded unemployment insurance, and federally funded sick leave.
My staff and I prepared the following resource guide for residents of California’s 49th Congressional District in order to provide basic information about important COVID-19 response programs and to answer frequently asked questions.
My office is also working to provide up-to-date information and resources, and to help constituents in need. You can reach us by visiting my website https://mikelevin.house.gov or by calling (760) 599-5000, and we will work to assist you.
Finally, I want to encourage everyone to remain calm and follow all stay-at-home orders. We will get through this crisis, together.
U.S. Representative Mike Levin the Virtual Town Hall on Wednesday with Roberto Garcia, a representative from the U.S. Census Bureau’s San Diego office, and Dr. Karl Steinberg, a nursing facility and hospice medical director in North County San Diego. They will answer questions regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19), the 2020 Census, and more.
Last month, Rep. Levin helped pass the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, and the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2020. He is working with his colleagues on additional legislation to support families, workers, small businesses, and medical professionals on the front lines of this crisis.
Constituents can submit questions ahead of time by emailing them to MLevin.Press@mail.house.gov and including their first name and city of residence.
