Del Mar CA— There is no higher priority than the safety of our patrons and our Fairgrounds family. In light of the recent coronavirus outbreak, we are proactively taking steps to ensure the highest level of safety and cleanliness standards throughout our facilities.
As we closely monitor the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we are committed to following the facts and recommendations provided by public health officials. We do not plan to cancel any upcoming events.
We are going above and beyond when it comes to taking additional precautionary measures and offering heightened sanitization standards to help keep our patrons and employees healthy and safe.
Additional cleanliness steps we are taking include:
- Elevated daily cleaning practices throughout our facility.
- Expanded signage encouraging people to wash their hands.
- Antibacterial and antimicrobial cleaning solutions used facility-wide.
- Additional hand sanitizing stations and temporary washing sinks will be available at all upcoming events.
Although the health risk to the general public in California remains low at this time, up-to-date information regarding the impact of COVID-19 is posted daily on the CDC website.
The best way to prevent exposure to illness is to follow these essential tips:
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. An alcohol-based hand sanitizer is a viable option if soap and water is not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and throw it away, or cough/sneeze into your shoulder if a tissue is not available.
- Keep your workstations and phones sanitized.
While health authorities advise following the best practices mentioned above to prevent illness, they are not encouraging the general public to restrict access to any populated areas including entertainment events at this time. We are committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patrons and Fairgrounds family.
