Oceanside CA— This morning, June 19, 2019 at 11:53, units from the Oceanside and Camp Pendleton Fire Departments responded to a reported vegetation fire. Approximately five minutes later, firefighters found a one acre vegetation fire, in light flashy fuels, with moderate rate of spread just west of the SR- 76 and Rancho Del Oro intersection.
Oceanside Engine 213 anchored a progressive hose lay and attacked the main body of fire, while Brush 217 utilized mobile tactics to defend the westward progression of the fire.
Knockdown of the fire was achieved by 12:08 and the fire was considered out by 12:13. A portion of the fire entered the cemetery associated with Mission San Luis Rey.
There were no injuries to any firefighters or civilians on this incident.
The Oceanside Police Department currently has a suspect in custody potentially related to this incident.
