New schedule includes Friday late-night service connecting to L.A. nightlife
Los Angeles CA— Effective Monday, April 8, Metrolink will introduce a new schedule, which will include a new San Bernardino Line Friday late-night roundtrip for people who want stress-free transportation to enjoy the nightlife of downtown Los Angeles.
“The new Friday night service on the San Bernardino Line allows people to skip traffic and parking costs, while enjoying great dining, a concert, play or sporting event in downtown L.A. without the worry of catching an earlier train home,” said Metrolink CEO Stephanie Wiggins.
On Fridays only, San Bernardino Line train 339 will depart the San Bernardino – Downtown Station at 9:30 p.m. with an 11:12 p.m. arrival to Los Angeles Union Station. Metrolink train 338 will depart Union Station at 11:30 p.m., arriving at San Bernardino – Downtown at 1:12 a.m. This roundtrip is in addition to the 38 regularly scheduled trains that operate weekdays on the San Bernardino Line.
The new Friday night service is the major addition to Metrolink’s schedule change. The schedules of San Bernardino Line weekday trains 337, 330, 332 and 334 will all be adjusted by less than five minutes each to accommodate for the new Friday night service.
The San Bernardino Line is consistently one of Metrolink’s most popular routes. Since January 1, there have been nearly one million boardings on the 14-station line, making it Metrolink’s top performer.
All other Metrolink service line (Ventura County, Antelope Valley, Orange County, Riverside, Inland Empire-Orange County and 91/Perris Valley) schedules remain the same, while minor adjustments were made to a pair of Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains to improve on-time performance.
