Oceanside CA— Late Friday night, November 2, 2018, at 11:30pm, units from the Oceanside Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire at 4149 Marcella Street. Oceanside Engine 218 was the first engine to arrive on the scene and reported a working structure fire and had initial reports that the fire was contained to a sunroom that had been added on to the home in the backyard.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the sunroom fire had extended into the main house and the kitchen was fully involved. As more units arrived on scene and were able to search the home it was discovered the attic was also on fire.
The fire was contained 28 minutes after the units were dispatched. Due to the heavy load of storage in the home and attic, a second alarm was initially dispatched but was later canceled before those units arrived.
Four adults were displaced from the home and the American Red Cross was brought to the scene to assist with shelter for the family.
The fire scene was cleared of all suppression units at 02:08 and an Oceanside Fire Department Investigator remained on scene to conduct the investigation into the cause and origin of the fire.
No firefighters or civilians were injured. Vista Fire assisted in the incident.
