Oceanside CA— This afternoon, Sunday, July 1, 2018, at 3:21pm., the Oceanside Police Department received calls of a collision involving a motorcycle and a truck in the 2100 block of Oceanside Blvd. Further information indicated the motorcyclist, a 34-year-old male, was not breathing.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene and despite life saving measures on the male rider, he died at the scene.
The collision occurred as the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Oceanside Blvd and just crossed through the intersection with Crouch St. At the same time, a Chevrolet truck was stopped in the center median of westbound Oceanside Blvd just east of the intersection with Crouch St. As the Motorcyclist approached the area of the truck the truck made a left turn into a private business and the motorcyclist collided with the truck.
The Medical Examiner was notified and the name of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
The driver of the truck was interviewed on scene and released. Based on the preliminary investigation, alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing. The Oceanside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is conducting the investigation.
