Vista CA— Investigators from the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Division want your help in identifying and locating a man wanted for attempted rape in Vista.
It happened on June 11th around 1:00 p.m. in the 800 block of Civic Center Drive. The 18-year-old victim says she was walking along the street when a man riding a black BMX style bicycle came up from behind and started making sexual comments to her. The victim became scared so she went inside a nearby business to get away. She went back outside after she saw the suspect had left.
As the victim continued her walk along Civic Center Drive, she says the suspect reappeared on his bike and grabbed her buttocks. She says he told her that he was going to sexually assault her. That’s when the suspect grabbed the victim, but she was able to fight back and get away. The suspect rode off on his bike after the victim began screaming. He was last seen heading towards Eucalyptus Avenue.
Take a good look at this sketch of the suspect. He’s described as a White or light-skinned Hispanic man in his early 20s, standing between 5’5″ and 5’7″ tall, weighing between 140 and 160 pounds with a thin build. He has thick wavy short hair and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and dark pants.
