Oceanside CA—Sarah Holloway won the title Miss Oceanside-2018 and Kayla Ann was crowned Miss Teen Oceanside during the annual Scholarship Pageant which took place last night, April 14, 2018, at the James Truax Performing Arts Center. Twenty-two girls competed for the titles and scholarships. The annual pageant is a fundraiser for the Oceanside Sea Lions with profits going to scholarships and charity. The MC for the event was Don Reedy.
Sarah Holloway will have in her court; Shayla Love- First Princess, Carmen Gagliardi- Second Princess and Venus Johnson- Third Princess. Haley Cook was voted Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants.
Kayla Ann’s court has Kassidy Betz- First Princess, Courtney Peluso- Second Princess and Bella Teta- Third Princess. Kayla Ann also received Miss Congeniality and Angelica Dulen received the ‘People’s Choice’ award.
Miss Holloway and Miss Ann each received $1,000.00 scholarships along with gift certificates, gift baskets, and trophies. The Princesses each received $300.00 cash scholarships.
The winners of the pageant become goodwill ambassadors for the City of Oceanside, the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce and the Oceanside Sea Lions and appear at various city and community’ events during community service during their reign.
The theme for this years pageant was ‘Celebrating 50 years of Service’ in honor of the Oceanside Sea Lions club celebrating their 50th anniversary.
