Fallbrook CA— Late last night, December 27, 2017 just before midnight, a 45-year-old male from Oceanside was driving a 2017 Nissan Sentra northbound on Olive Hill Road near Olive Hill Trail Rd.
The vehicle involved was unable to safely negotiate a left curve in the roadway. The vehicle left the road to the east and struck a boulder that was on the road shoulder. The impact with the boulder caused the vehicle to rollover and partially eject the driver and lone occupant. The vehicle continued and struck a tree before coming to rest on the shoulder.
During the investigation it was discovered the driver did not appear to utilize safety restraints within the vehicle.
The road was intermittently closed for several hours during the on-scene investigation and was reopened approximately 2:30 this morning.
The name of the driver involved will be released by the San Diego County Medical Examiners office upon notification of family.
The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
