Oceanside CA— On Thursday August 31, 2017 at approximately 10:55am, a bicyclist was killed when a Honda Accord veered into the bike lane of westbound SR-76 and collided with the bicyclist.
The driver of the Accord, earlier identified as Felix Ruizbazan of Oceanside, remained on scene and was arrested for unrelated charges to include driving on a suspended license and a warrant. The investigation later revealed the vehicle was an unreported stolen vehicle. Ruizbazan remains in custody with no bail, pending arraignment.
The bicyclist was later identified as 70-year-old Paul Cornish from Wildomar, CA. His family has been notified by the medical examiner.
