Encinitas CA— Investigators with the San Diego Sheriff’s Department are looking for a 1993 to 2000, Mercedes C series, silver or white in color that is suspected of being involved in a hit and run collision in Encinitas.
At about 10:07 p.m.on August 11, 2017, Sheriff’s deputies responded to North Coast HWY 101 and Basil Street in the City of Encinitas to investigate a report of vehicle versus bicyclist collision. A 30-year-old female was riding her bicycle southbound in the in the designated bicycle “Sharrow” lane when she was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene southbound.
The female bicyclist was transported to Scripps La Jolla Hospital with severe head trauma.
The suspect vehicle, a Mercedes C series, has damage to the front grill.
