Oceanside CA— On Thursday June 1, 2017 at 7:19 pm, the Oceanside Police Department responded to calls of shots fired in the 200 block of N. Strand. Upon officer’s arrival, a male victim, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound, was located in the area of the bleachers. The victim was in the process of being transported by air when he succumbed to his injuries at 7:44 pm. The victim was 21-year-old Ines Villa, a Hispanic male, who resided in the City of Oceanside.
On June 2, 21-year-old Bianca Madrigal, an Oceanside resident, was located by Oceanside Police and arrested. On June 3, 18-year-old Jose Rodriguez, also an Oceanside resident, was located by Oceanside Police and arrested.
Both have been charged with PC 187(A) – Homicide and PC 186.22(B)(1) – Participate in a Gang Felony.
Madrigal’s arraignment has been set for today, June 6, at 1:30pm. Rodriguez’ arraignment date is pending.
