Oceanside CA— Yesterday morning, Monday June 19, 2017 at 10:31 am, Oceanside Police Motorcycle Officer, Brad Hunter was intentionally struck by a silver Dodge Neon on Foussat Road at Oceanside Blvd. The suspect immediately fled the scene.
Responding officers were able to locate what turned out to be the driver, at El Camino Real and Industry. During the course of the investigation the driver was arrested and booked into the San Diego County Central Jail in San Diego for Attempted Murder of a Police Officer and Felony Hit and Run. He is identified as Roberto Ignacio Flores, 26 years of age from San Marcos.
The passenger, identified only as a black male adult has yet to be located.
Officer Hunter is a 29 year veteran of the department. He was flown by air ambulance to Scripps Hospital where he is recovering from his injuries.
Officer Hunter was cared for by witnesses until other officers and medical personnel arrived.
