Oceanside CA— The Oceanside Police Department Officers Association and the Oceanside Police Department will be hosting a blood drive and safety fair in support of OPD Motor Officer, Brad Hunter, 9:00am-6:00pm, July 7, 2017 in the OPD parking lot, 3855 Mission Ave.
Officer Hunter, a 29-year veteran of the Oceanside Police Department, was intentionally hit by a driver while he was conducting a traffic stop on another vehicle. He was seriously injured and
flown to Scripps Memorial Hospital by air ambulance where he underwent emergency surgery for a shattered lower leg.
Brad had extensive reconstructive surgery and was placed in a medically induced coma for 2 days due to a severe head injury. He is currently awake, in good spirits and is out of the ICU, but he faces a long road to recovery.
Brad is a 6th degree Taekwondo Master and beloved member of the community. His friends know him to be one of the kindest, gentlest souls you could ever meet. He loves his job, his family and
