Shannon Soto Named Associate Superintendent of Business Services

Oceanside CA— At its meeting on Tuesday night, the Oceanside Unified School District Board of Education named Dr. Shannon Soto as the Associate Superintendent of Business Services for the Oceanside Unified School District.
Soto comes to the district from Laguna Beach School District, where she most recently served as the Director of Fiscal Services, overseeing the district’s risk management, property claims and transportation.
As associate superintendent of business services, Soto will oversee OUSD’s bond construction, fiscal services, maintenance and operations, nutrition services, purchasing, and transportation.
“Shannon not only has the experienced business mindset that we were looking for but she has also been a teacher, an administrative coach and school site administrator,” said Oceanside Unified School District Board of Education President Robert “Camo” Gleisberg. “She is a great addition to our executive leadership team and our district.”
Soto began her career in the classroom as an accounting and math teacher for the Fullerton Joint Union High School District. She moved on to Capistrano Unified School District, where she was an assistant principal and then a principal for middle and high schools.
“I am ready to work for the students of Oceanside,” said Dr. Soto. “My background as an educator and as a fiscal manager allows me to support schools through the lens of business.”
Soto earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from California State University, Long Beach, a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Alliant University, and attended the University of Southern California, where she earned her Doctorate in Education.
Dr. Soto will be replacing Christopher Wright, who will be taking a position at the Carlsbad Unified School District.
