Local Blood drive held in Encinitas, San Marcos, Sorrento Mesa and Vista

San Diego County CA— San Diego County Credit Union^® (SDCCU^®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is hosting a blood drive on January 5, 2017 at six locations in San Diego. Due to the busy holiday season, hospital shelves are almost empty, affecting thousands of patients. We need your help – lives depend on it! More than 3,500 San Diegans, over 900 of them registered donors, turned out at the daylong community-wide blood drive, which is considered one of the largest and longest-running single-day blood drives in the nation. San Diego Blood Bank officials said blood collected at this year’s Chargers Drive XXXVIII will help hospital patients in the San Diego community. Blood donations are especially critical at this time of year because donations often decrease during the holidays while the need for more blood often increases.
