Carlsbad CA— Last night, November 02, at 9:00 p.m., Officers from the Carlsbad Police Department responded to a call of an explosion in the 2200 block of Avenida Magnifica. Officers arrived and found that there appeared to be a kitchen fire that had been extinguished by the resident at an apartment.
One of the residents had minor to moderate injuries and was transported to the UCSD burn unit.
Officers determined that no evacuations were needed as the fire had been extinguished. No other apartments were damaged.
A search of the residence revealed that there was no one inside and two residents had evacuated to the porch.
Carlsbad Fire Department and Carlsbad Police Department investigators were called to the scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
