Carlsbad CA— Monday evening, August 22, at 6:42 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department received a report of a traffic collision involving 3 vehicles in which one had flipped over onto its roof at the intersection of Palomar Airport Road and Armada Drive.
Officers responded to the scene and found a 2007 Acura MDX driven by a 20-year-old male had collided with a 1994 Chevrolet Suburban and a 2013 Volvo sedan. An initial investigation showed that the 2007 Acura entered the intersection against a red left arrow light prior to colliding with the two other vehicles.
The City of Carlsbad Fire Department personnel responded to the scene, accessed the injuries to the driver of the 1994 Chevrolet Suburban and subsequently he was transported to Scripps hospital in La Jolla for treatment. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that neither alcohol, drug intoxication nor distracted driving are a factor in this case.
