San Marcos CA— Early this morning, July 9, 2016, shortly before 2:30am, Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the San Marcos Station responded to a report of a large party / disturbance in the 1800 block of Redwing Street, in unincorporated San Marcos. When the deputies arrived on scene they observed a large party at a residence.
When Deputies approached the residence they heard a commotion occurring in the backyard. As deputies attempted to contact the attendees of the party, unknown people starting throwing bottles in the direction of the deputies. The on scene deputies requested assistance. Deputies from surrounding Sheriff’s Stations along with Carlsbad and Escondido Police Officers responded to assist.
While deputies worked to restore order, two stabbing victims, came from the backyard looking for assistance from the deputies. The victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds. Detectives responded to the scene and are currently investigating.
Two subjects were arrested at the scene. A juvenile and Michael Moran (5/30/1991) were arrested for probation violations. Both of the subjects arrested are San Marcos gang members. Anyone with information about this case can call the Sheriff’s Department non-emergency line at (858)565-5200.
