Oceanside CA— MiraCosta College’s Public Information Office was recognized for its excellence in marketing and public relations with 11 statewide and national awards.
MiraCosta College captured a 2015 Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR), winning a gold award in the newsletter category for its Transforming Lives magazine, a publication produced by the college’s Public Information Office in conjunction with the MiraCosta Foundation. Transforming Lives highlights scholarship donors and recipients for the preceding year. It has a circulation of about 15,000 community members and students.
The college then went on to capture ten awards from the California Community College Public Relations Organization (CCPRO), including five first place awards for print advertising, newsletter, outdoor media, photography and folder.
“MiraCosta College is a leader in marketing and communications for community colleges,” said MiraCosta College Director of Public and Governmental Relations, Marketing and Communications Cheryl Broom. “We have a tremendous team committed to creating cutting-edge, relevant content that engages our audience and shows our community exactly what makes the college so very special.”
NCMPR presented the award March 13 during its three–day national conference in St. Louis. Some 236 colleges submitted a total of 1,773 entries to the contest. The CCPRO awards were given on Thursday, April 14 at a special awards ceremony in Rohnert Park, California.
