Oceanside CA— Operation Appreciation will occur this Saturday, May 21st, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oceanside’s Pier Amphitheatre. As part of this 15th annual Oceanside event, entertainment will be a big part of the experience. This year “The Heroes Band” will be the main entertainers, a 7-piece band featuring the talents of two amazing female singers backed by a guitarist, keyboardist, bassist, drummer and saxophonist, all of whom sings as well. Ian Lindon & Mary Loyd will also perform. Here is the show line-up for Saturday:
- 11:00 a.m. – Opening Ceremonies
- Noon – The Heroes Band
- 1:30 p.m. – Ian Lindon & Mary Loyd with The Heroes
- 2:50 p.m. – The Heroes
Saturday’s Operation Appreciation is a dedicated day, organized by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, recognizing all active-duty military stationed on Marine Corps Base Camp Joseph H. Pendleton and other nearby military bases.
“Whether you are a civilian who wants to show your gratitude and enjoy a fun-filled day or you are a member of the military family, come out and SHOW your appreciation or BE appreciated,” says David Nydegger,” Oceanside Chamber of Commerce President.
This special event will welcome thousands of active duty military and their families to enjoy a day filled with free food, carnival rides and live entertainment at the Oceanside Pier Amphitheatre, with the support of Genentech, Pacific Marine Credit Union, Wal-Mart, Chase Bank and many other wonderful sponsors. The general public is also welcome (nominal fee for Fun Zone activities). Shuttle Parking is provided from the downtown area.
During this celebration of appreciation, active duty military and their dependents will enjoy a variety of culinary delights numerous attractions; a children’s fun zone with zip line, laser tag, inflatable jumps, an adventurous rock climbing wall, kid’s crafts zone and informational sponsor booths. Plus, the Navy LCAC will land on the Oceanside beach for a unique amphibious display.
For unlimited rides, activities, and a free lunch, all Active Duty Military and their dependents must bring a valid Active Duty Military ID Card. Entertainment, the sponsor booth area and military displays are free to everyone.
