Carlsbad CA— On May, 6 at 11:25 a.m., an officer from the City of Carlsbad Police Department was conducting a routine patrol of a motel in the 3600 block of Pio Pico Drive close to the cross streets of Palm Avenue and Magnolia Avenue.
The officer found a vehicle with licenses plates that did not match the vehicle and that were later found to be stolen. After further investigation the officer found that the vehicle was stolen from La Jolla the previous weekend.
The investigation led officers to the suspect who was staying in the motel under a stolen identity. Officers arrested 44-year-old John Fuller in a motel room for auto theft, possession of stolen property and identity theft.
During the investigation, officers found numerous pieces of property for which the Police Department is seeking an owner.
Investigators think this property is probably from a wide area in San Diego. The property includes unusual items like antique personal photos, medals and an urn with a dog ashes.
