Pala CA— This afternoon, April I, 2016 at approximately 1:49 pm a 30-year-old male from San Diego was riding his off-road motorcycle at Pala Raceway at an unknown speed. For reasons still under investigation, he lost control of his motorcycle after attempting a jump.
The rider and his motorcycle continued out of control until colliding head on into another rider, a 49-year-old male from Oceanside.
As a result of the collision, the 49-year-old male was pronounced dead on scene.
The 30-year-old male was transported to Palomar Hospital with major injuries but is expected to survive.
At this time it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a factor in this collision.
The incident remains under investigation and no names have released. No other vehicles were involved.
