Oceanside CA— On Saturday, February 13, 2016 just after 6:30pm, the Oceanside Police and Fire Departments responded to the 3700 block of Mission Ave for reports of a motorcycle versus auto collision.
Witnesses at the scene stated that a Toyota Prius, driven by an elderly woman, was west-bound on Mission Ave in the left turn lane for the Mission Camino Shopping Center when she pulled in front of a motorcycle traveling east on Mission Ave.
The brunt of the impact, which was strong enough to remove large parts from the front end of the Prius, was absorbed by the left leg of motorcycle rider. He was transported to the hospital with severe trauma to his leg, his condition is unknown at this time. The driver of the Prius was uninjured.
Eastbound Mission Avenue was closed for approximately one hour with traffic being diverted at Fireside Street.
