Carlsbad CA— On Sunday night, December 6, at 9:43 pm, the City of Carlsbad Police Department received a report of a traffic collision involving a single motor vehicle in the 4900 block of Carlsbad Blvd.
Officers responded to the scene and found that a 2001 Ford Ranger driven by a 23-year-old male had driven off of the roadway and rolled over multiple times before colliding with a brick wall.
City of Carlsbad Fire Department personnel responded and extricated the driver who was pinned in the vehicle.
The driver was transported via helicopter to Scripps La Jolla Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that the Ford was driving southbound in the 4900 block of Carlsbad Blvd when it drifted off the roadway and rolled over several times before coming to rest.
The driver of the 2001 Ford has been identified as a 23-year-old male from San Marcos. His condition is not know at this time.
Alcohol and/or drug intoxication is suspected to be a factor in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
