Vista CA— Last night, Sunday November 1, 2015 at 7:10 p.m., San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputies from the Vista Patrol Station responded to a motorcycle versus parked vehicle collision in the 500 block of N. Emerald Drive.
Deputies arrived within minutes and found the 26-year-old male driver of the motorcycle in the roadway. Paramedics from the Oceanside Fire Department arrived at about the same time and attempted life saving measures on the male; however, he was declared deceased at the scene.
The initial investigation revealed the motorcycle had been traveling northbound on North Emerald Drive. For an undetermined reason, the motorcycle drifted to the right and collided with the left rear of a vehicle which was legally parked along the east side of the roadway. The impact caused the driver to be ejected onto the roadway.
Alcohol does appear to be a factor in the collision. Several witnesses were interviewed at the scene. This investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone who witnessed the collision but did not provide a statement is urged to contact Deputy Guerrero.
