Oceanside CA— The driver of a Honda Accord was airlifted to Scripps La Jolla after being extricated from his car by Oceanside firefighters. His car, stopped at the light, was sandwiched between two full size pick-ups on west-bound Mission Ave at Mesa Drive, just after 6:00 pm Friday evening, September 19, 2015.
“I heard the crash, looked in my mirror and saw car parts flying everywhere. It was like watching a movie in slow-motion” said a witness who did not want to be identified. “I just parked my car and went to help the people. I thought the guy in the black truck was dead because he just sat there not saying anything for a while but then he started talking to us.” The driver from the black pick-up was led away in handcuffs by Oceanside Police on charges that are unknown at this time.
The driver of the first truck, a silver Dodge, and a young girl were shaken up but not transported.
