UPDATE: (2200hrs) The Oceanside Police Department can now confirm the arrest of Calvin Glass Jr.(18 years of age) for one count of PC 187 (Murder) and one count of PC 664/187 (Attempted Murder)
Following his arrest, Glass confessed to shooting both victims whose names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. To further clarify, both victims were adult males.
Oceanside CA— At approximately 2:10pm today, July 26, 2015, the Oceanside Police Department responded to the apartment complex located 3699 Barnard Drive for a report of shots fired with possibly two victims of gunshot wounds on scene.
Upon arrival, officers found one victim within the complex with at least one fatal wound and another with a non-life threatening gunshot wound who was later transported to a nearby trauma center.
Witnesses at the scene provided officers with information on a possible suspect in the shooting (not being identified as of yet) in the case who, at approximately 4:15pm, was located and detained by Escondido Police Officers at the Escondido Transit Center.
That suspect is currently en-route to the Oceanside Police Department to be interviewed by detectives.
Investigation has been turned over to the department’s Crimes of Violence Unit.
