San Diego County CA— 12 people are in custody following Operation Neptune in the North County. Sheriff’s Deputies contacted 44 people during parole and probation checks in Cardiff, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar, 4S Ranch, San Marcos, Vista, Oceanside and Carlsbad from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. today.
Operation Neptune is a proactive approach to ensure those on parole and probation are complying with the conditions of their release. The “zero tolerance” compliance checks were also utilized to follow up on theft and drug investigations. Some of the parolees/probationers were in compliance. Others were not home and will be visited another time.
The following people were arrested on misdemeanor charges of possessing drug paraphernalia, violating a temporary restraining order, being under the influence of drugs, as well as felony charges of possessing heroin for sale:

The North Coastal Sheriff’s Station, formerly known as Encinitas Sheriff’s Station, coordinated Operation Neptune with information from their law enforcement partners in North County including County Probation. The operation consisted of 50 deputies from the North Coastal, Vista, San Marcos, Imperial Beach, Fallbrook Stations, Sheriff’s K-9, and ASTREA.
