Carlsbad CA— On Saturday, June 13 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department will be holding a public viewing of bicycles recovered during a recent investigation. The goal is to reconnect community members with their missing bicycles.
On May 6, the Police Department reported an investigation that lead to the recovery of 35 bicycles. Subsequently, the department was inundated with questions about the bicycles.
In an effort to return bicycles recovered in this incident and other bicycles found or recovered by officers to owners, the Police Department has posted the bicycles to the department’s Facebook page for viewing. The page can be found at www.facebook.com/carlsbadpolicedepartment.
If a community members thinks one of the bicycle belongs to them, they can come to the scheduled viewing. The viewing will be held at 5815 El Camino Real in Carlsbad.
Bicycle owners will be required to complete paperwork as part of the process. A photo I.D., stolen bicycle case number and/or an Affidavit of Fact will be required before the release of a bicycle.
