UPDATE: Based on evidence located at the scene and the results of the autopsy detectives have determined this case to be a murder suicide. The victim in this case has been identified as eighty-four year old Mrs. Inge Gery. The suspect has been identified as Mrs. Gery’s husband, eighty year old Mr.William Gery.
At this point detectives are still investigating what led to this incident, but it appears it was related to Mrs. Gery’s health. The cause of death of for Mrs. Gery has been determined to be from a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death to be homicide. San Marcos CA— Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail are investigating the shooting deaths of an elderly adult female and an elderly adult male in a residence at 1145 East Barham Drive in the city of San Marcos.
On June 1, 2015, at about 3:39 p.m., deputies received a radio call from a man reporting he just shot and killed his wife and he was going to kill himself.
When deputies arrived at the location, they gave announcements requesting the occupants exit the house, but did not receive a response. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED) later arrived and entered the residence. Inside the residence deputies located the bodies of a deceased eighty year old male and an eighty-four year old female.
A cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
