Oceanside CA— Members of California Coalition for Health Choice will rally on Friday to demand the addition of a personal belief exemption to Senate Bill 277 (SB 277). SB 277 passed out of the Assembly Health Committee earlier this week on a 12-6 vote. The members and supporters of the cause will also show their gratitude for Southern California Assembly-members that voted against SB 277 in the Health Committee hearing on Tuesday.
Concerned Californians who oppose SB 277 have been asking that a personal belief exemption be added to the bill throughout the legislative process and the request has been emphatically denied. During the committee hearing, the authors of the bill were asked to logically justify a need for the bill and they failed to do so.
The rally will take place at the Oceanside Civic Center Plaza June 12, 2015 at 10:00am. Speakers will include California Assembly-member and US Senate candidate, Rocky Chavez, State Senator Joel Anderson, Oceanside City Council-member Jerry Kern and Oceanside Deputy Mayor Chuck Lowery.
SB-277 would tighten child vaccination requirements for student entry into state licensed schools, daycares and nurseries in California.
