Oceanside CA— On Sunday evening May 17, 2015 at 6:56 pm, Oceanside Police Department dispatchers received a 911 call from an apartment complex located in the 4700 block of Frazee Rd.The reporting party advised several people from an earlier incident were on the enclosed patio of her boyfriend’s home. One of the subjects was banging on the patio glass window and had broken it.
The woman calling was in the apartment with her boyfriend and feared the subjects were going to make entry. Neither the she nor her boyfriend could leave the apartment due to the people waiting outside.
During this same call, OPD dispatchers began receiving multiple 911 calls. Some of the callers reported hearing several people shouting and possibly multiple gunshots fired. Another caller reported a woman was on the ground in the parking lot bleeding from an unknown injury.
Officers arrived on-scene and located a female in the parking lot with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. OFD paramedics treated and transported the victim to a landing zone where she was flown to an area trauma center for additional treatment. The status of her condition is not known at this time.
The preliminary information leads investigators to believe this incident is related to an earlier call at this complex. At 5:00 pm this same evening, two women reported their children had been verbally and physically assaulted by a neighbor when they accidentally hit him with a “twig”. Neither child required medical treatment. When officers spoke to all parties involved the parents declined prosecution, and the male agreed to stay away from the children. This incident was documented on a crime report.
The victim of the gunshot wound is a parent of one of the juveniles from this incident.
The identities of the persons involved are being withheld while the investigation is still on-going.
