Oceanside CA— The MiraCosta Community College District Board of Trustees is reaching out to the Carlsbad community for applicants to fill the trustee slot held by Leon Page, who announced his resignation from the board effective March 16, 2015. Page is relocating his family to an area outside of the MiraCosta College district.
Page joined the MiraCosta College Board of Trustees in December 2012, and his replacement will finish out his term of office, through November 2016. Page’s seat represents Trustee Area 4, the Carlsbad portion of the college district, and the successful candidate must live in that trustee area.
“This is bittersweet,” said Page, who is resigning prior to his family’s relocation, which will move their residency outside of the MiraCosta College district. “I have enjoyed this time very much and learned a tremendous amount from this board. I am proud of this institution and am so very pleased to leave it in such terrific condition.”
Page joined the MiraCosta College Board of Trustees in December 2012, and represents the Carlsbad portion of the college district. Page works for the County of Orange as a deputy county counsel. Prior to his appointment to the board, he served as a MiraCosta College adjunct instructor, teaching Business 140 (Legal Environment of Business). He returns to the classroom from time to time as a guest speaker on employment law. Over the last few years, Leon also has taken a number of classes as a student at MiraCosta College, including courses in history, dramatic literature, ballroom and Latin dance.
