Oceanside CA— Oceanside Fire and Police Investigators are continuing their investigation of what caused the fatal fire which occurred shortly before 6:30 PM on the evening of February 22nd.
Members of the Oceanside Police Departments Investigations Division in conjunction with investigators from Oceanside’s Fire Prevention Unit are looking into the circumstances surrounding the residential fire which took place at 4660 North River Road, Space #71. A 74 year old adult female was found dead inside the home after the fire was extinguished.
Today the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy. The exact cause of death is pending further pathology results. The specific identity of the decedent is being withheld pending notification to family members by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The deceased was an Oceanside resident and lived at the location with her husband and adult son. All parties present at the time of the fire have been interviewed and are cooperating with the investigation. Because this is an on-going investigation, no specific information will be released which is deemed critical to the case.
