Oceanside CA— Earlier this afternoon, January 14, 2015 at 1:53 p.m. a staff member at Oceanside High School received a phone call indicating a threat to the school. The voice seemed to be automated and computer generated. The voice essentially said a truck loaded with explosives was going to drive into their building. The caller did not mention the high school or anyone by name.
Oceanside High School had let out earlier in the day at 12:30 p.m. for a scheduled staff meeting. There were very few students on campus at the time of the threat. The school went into immediate lockdown and members of the School Safety Enhancement Team of the Oceanside Police Department were on scene and are handling the investigation.
The lockdown was lifted a short while ago and the members of the SSET are assisting in the dismissal of the remaining students.
