Oceanside CA— The woman who died in an Oceanside motor-vehicle accident on Sunday December 7, 2014 has been identified as Amaranta Equador Kozuch-Seimer of Escondido.
Kozuch-Seimer was a 29 year-old White female. On Sunday, she was the restrained driver and sole occupant of a 2013 Kia that was hit in the rear by a Ford pickup truck near the intersection of Moreno St. and Vista Way. The collision pushed the decedent’s vehicle into a Toyota pickup truck. 9-1-1 was called and when paramedics arrived, the decedent was extricated from her vehicle.
A preliminary investigation of the Oceanside crash indicated that four vehicles were involved. A Ford truck was westbound on Hwy 78 and went through the intersection at the freeway’s end at a high rate of speed according to witnesses. The Ford truck rear ended a Kia passenger car near the intersection of Moreno St sending the Kia into a spin. The Kia then struck a Toyota truck that was traveling westbound ahead of it. The Ford truck continued into the eastbound lane of Vista Way and struck an eastbound Chevrolet truck.
The driver of the Ford sustained moderate injuries as did the driver of the Chevrolet truck. Both were flown to Scripps La Jolla Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Toyota had complaints of pain and was released at the scene.
