Valley Center CA— San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputies from the Valley Center Substation learned of a bomb threat email, sent to a news station, indicating the sender placed explosives in the area. The sender claimed to be targeting SDG&E work trucks in a land use dispute.
Sheriff’s Bomb and Arson Investigators responded to the area of Spearhead Trail in Valley Center and closed the trail for approximately two hours while they ensured it was safe.
Deputies determined Frits Versteegh, a nearby resident, sent the threatening email. Versteegh was arrested for making a bomb threat and booked into the Vista Jail.
