Carlsbad CA— During the morning rush today, November 17, at 7:07 a.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department responded to a multi-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of El Camino Real and College Boulevard.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling southbound on El Camino Real collided with two vehicles that were negotiating a left turn onto northbound El Camino Real from eastbound College Boulevard.
Carlsbad Fire Department personnel responded and assumed the medical treatment for one of the involved drivers. The 38-year-old female driver was subsequently transported by ambulance to Scripps La Jolla Hospital with serious injuries.
Bus service was interrupted briefly as NCTD sent out a Tweet at 8:35am alerting customers that all BREEZE 309 routes were 20-25 min behind schedule with no missed stops. The traffic collision investigation is ongoing. Alcohol intoxication is not suspected to be involved in the collision.
