Oceanside CA-This morning, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 9:20 a.m. San Diego County Sheriff’s Office deputies were flagged down near the Sprinter Station in downtown Oceanside. The deputies were working a rail enforcement detail. The deputies contacted dispatchers from the Oceanside Police Department and told them they had detained two people possibly related to a stabbing from the night before.
The deputies were flagged by a witness who had seen the stabbing at the Firewater Saloon the night before [Story Link]. The witness also told them he had seen the two suspects at the Sprinter Station. The deputies contacted the two possible suspects in the 300 block of S. Cleveland. Oceanside Police Department officers arrived. Based on their observations, Oceanside Police Department detectives responded to the scene. While the officers were on scene, a third person inserted himself into the investigation.
Based on interviews and evidence located at the scene of the detention, two of the people were arrested (Martell Brown and Marshawn Eric Boyd Miller). John Bradshaw voluntarily agreed to accompany detectives to the Oceanside Police Department. Subsequently the following events occurred:
1. John Bradshaw (DOB 02-04-68) was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon from the incident at the Firewater Saloon.
2. Martell Brown (DOB 06-15-95) was charged with burglary from an unrelated incident at Vapes at 514 N. Coast Highway. He was also charged with possession of stolen property.
3. Marshawn Eric Boyd Miller (DOB 02-28-90), who inserted himself into the investigation, was arrested for possession of crystal methamphetamine for sale. He is on parole for robbery.
