This observance was established in honor of senior citizens in the United States who made positive contributions in their communities. MiraCosta College is a proud provider of programs, classes and services to local senior citizens, ensuring that they have access to enrichment and lifelong learning opportunities, either for free or at low cost.
CLC Free Noncredit Program
Noncredit programs at MiraCosta College play a crucial role in educating and training the future workforce and enriching the lives of senior citizens who choose to continue learning. Noncredit classes include Essential Computer Skills, Basic Word Processing,

LIFE Program
The LIFE Program at MiraCosta College is an organization designed especially for the seniors in North San Diego County, and meets on most Friday afternoons on both the Oceanside Campus and the San Elijo Campus in Cardiff. LIFE offers discussion groups and guest speakers, and is a wonderful way to stay engaged through learning. Events, Concerts and Films
Seniors can spend lovely evening at MiraCosta College listening to live jazz or orchestral music, can catch a performance in our theatre, or watch our dance students leap into action. Seniors can also attend free international films or lecture showing at both Oceanside and San Elijo Campus throughout the school year. Gerontology Program
Senior citizens can also take college credit classes in order to enhance their passion for learning. MiraCosta College’s Gerontology Program, for example, is a multidisciplinary study of the human aging process. It examines the physiological, psychological, and social aspects of aging as well as how an aging population affects contemporary society.
